Everybody loves bugs!

Okay, so the posting of the last link was a bit hasty.  Turns out it was working fine in VS2010 on account of the debugger, but the release would crash upon attempting to mine.  That simply wouldn’t do.

The link in the last post has been updated with a working build.  Again, no need to thank me.

The Necromancy Update!

Contrary to what I would like to imagine as being popular belief, Linecraft is not dead.  I’ve simply been working on other parts of the engine that are not entirely relevant to the game itself, chiefly networking.  In the meantime, the latest build is here.  It’s at least ten times better than the last one because this one has a pick and pressing the number keys will give you armor that does absolutely nothing!

I know it’s such a privilege getting anything at all from me, but there’s no need for thanks, I know how grateful all of you are already.

Here’s the latest build.  Everything you thought you knew about Linecraft is about to change.

Picks, finally.

It’s about time.  I might spend a little time polishing up the way the armor/picks are handled, but the next big thing will be combat and enemies, if the armor didn’t indicate that already.

All this hard work has left me exhausted.  I think it’s time I took a break.

Adding armor

Some of you might be wondering why I’m adding armor when there is yet to be any perceivable threats in the world of Linecraft.

All I have to say is “stay tuned.”

Linecraft test build available!

Download the game here!

Adventure over 99999 blocks into the depths of Linecraft!  Tons of blocks to break, a plethora of ore and gems to collect, and absolutely nothing fun to do!  Challenge your friends to see who can hold the down button the longest.  First person to reach 999 diamonds wins a chance to name a special craftable item.

Linecraft v0.1a

Sadly, impromptu vacation was cancelled because the butler for my private jet had prior engagements (so selfish sometimes, right?).  Decided to work on Linecraft’s artwork some more.  Hey, you didn’t ask for it, but I’m giving it to you anyways!.

Next major update will include the beginnings of the crafting system!

Just finished adding a donation button to the blog next to the RSS button.  Please give me your money before I finish making the game!  Thank you!

Artwork update!

Some artwork for the game

This is just some of the artwork I’ve done for Linecraft.  There is more, but I’m going to keep it a surprise for future updates

Linecraft Progress!

We have clientside inventory now!

We’re not quite in alpha yet, but progress is good.  Lots of tweaking to the engine, lots of art assets that need to be drawn for the future.  All this work is really burning me out, might have to take an early vacation.

Hello!

Welcome to my blog!  I’ll be posting updates on my latest game, Linecraft, very soon.  Linecraft is a massively singleplayer 1-dimensional digging simulator inspired heavily by such classic titles as Dwarf Fortress and Infiniminer.  It will feature a rich and deep 1D procedurally generated world that is infinitely long.  The game will boast tons of features that I will add at my leisure.  I hope you’re all looking forward to it.
